Privacy Policy

What we collect when you join our mailing list, apply as a vendor, or sponsor a show, what we do with it, and how to have it changed or deleted.

Applies to holycowboutique.com

The short version

  • Shoppers don't need to give us anything. Admission is free and the site works without an account.
  • If you join our mailing list, we keep your email address to send show news. You can unsubscribe from any email.
  • If you apply as a vendor or sponsor, we use your information to review the application and run the show.
  • We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.

1Who we are

J & J Events, LLC, doing business as Holy Cow Boutique ("Holy Cow," "we," "us"), runs juried seasonal boutique shows at the Lindon Community Center, 25 North Main, Lindon, Utah. This policy covers holycowboutique.com, the forms and emails connected to it, and our shows themselves. Every purchase at a Holy Cow show goes through our central checkout, so when you buy something at the show, you're paying Holy Cow, and the information from that purchase is handled under this policy. Vendors stock their own booths, but they don't take payments or collect shopper information at the show.

2What we collect

Information you give us

  • Mailing list. Your email address, and the date and time you signed up.
  • Vendor applications. Your name, business name, email, phone number, mailing address, social media or website links, descriptions and photos of what you sell, booth preferences, and anything else you write in the application.
  • Sponsor inquiries. Your name, business name, and contact details, plus whatever you include when you email or call us.
  • Messages. Anything you send us by email, phone, or social media.
  • Vendor payouts. The payment and tax information we need to pay vendors their share of sales.

At the show

  • Purchases. Our checkout records what you bought, the price, and the time. Card and tap-to-pay payments are processed by Square. We see the card type and last four digits, not your full card number. Cash payments record no personal information.
  • Venmo. If you pay by Venmo, we see your Venmo name or username and the payment amount. Venmo's own settings control whether your payment is visible to others on Venmo.
  • Receipts. If you ask for a receipt by email or text, we collect that email address or phone number to send it. We don't add receipt contacts to our mailing list.
  • Giveaways. If you enter a giveaway, we collect the contact information on your entry so we can notify winners.
  • Photos and video. We take photos and video at our shows for our website and social media, and you may appear in them. If you'd rather not be included, tell a staff member or contact us and we'll leave you out or take the image down.

Fees paid online

If you pay a vendor or sponsor fee online, the payment is handled by the payment processor connected to that form. We receive confirmation that you paid and the amount. We don't receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the page you came from, the pages you view, and the time of your visit. We use an analytics service to count visits and see which pages people use. Section 6 explains this.

3How we use it

  • To send show dates, vendor announcements, and other show news to people on our mailing list.
  • To review vendor applications, accept or waitlist vendors, assign booths, collect fees, and communicate with vendors before, during, and after a show.
  • To promote accepted vendors and sponsors. If you're accepted, we may list your business name, logo, products, and social media handle on our website, social media, and signage. We won't publish your personal phone number, address, or email.
  • To deliver what sponsors paid for, such as logo placement and recognition.
  • To answer questions and requests.
  • To process purchases at our shows, send receipts you request, handle returns or questions about a purchase, and pay vendors for what they sold.
  • To keep the website running, secure, and working well.
  • To keep business, tax, and accounting records, and to meet legal obligations.

4Who we share it with

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

We use a small number of service providers to run the website, mailing list, and applications. They handle your information on our behalf and under their own privacy and security terms.

ProviderWhat it does for us
GoDaddyStores our email list and sends our show emails
Google WorkspaceRuns our business email
Patch RetentionRuns our pre-show giveaway entry form and sends our text messages
SquareRuns our checkout registers and processes card and tap-to-pay payments at the show
FormstackHosts the vendor application form and stores submissions
NetlifyHosts this website and receives mailing list sign-ups and sponsor inquiries submitted through it
RailwayHosts our vendor sales portal
Analytics serviceCounts visits and page views

If we switch any of these providers, for example by moving our mailing list to a different email service, we'll update this table.

Vendor sales portal. During a show, vendors can check their own sales in our vendor portal, so they know how much they've sold. The portal shows the amount and time of each sale. It doesn't show shoppers' names, contact information, or payment details, so nothing a shopper gives us at checkout is visible to vendors. Vendors also receive sales reports for their own items after the show, with the same limits.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of our shoppers, vendors, or staff, or to enforce our vendor and sponsor agreements. If the business is ever sold or transferred to a new owner, this information may go with it, and the new owner would be bound by this policy for information collected under it.

5Our email list

We only add you to the mailing list if you sign up or ask us to. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly. You can also email us and we'll remove you. Unsubscribing from show news won't stop emails about a vendor application or sponsorship you have with us.

Giveaway entries and text messages. When you enter one of our giveaways, you give us your name, mobile number, and email address, and you agree to receive text messages and emails from us. We send texts through Patch Retention and add your email address to our email list. You don't have to agree to this to shop at the show. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or contact us and we'll remove you.

6Cookies and analytics

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't show ads on this site. Our analytics service reports totals, such as how many people visited and which pages they looked at. We use it to plan the site and to report general audience size to sponsors. We don't use it to build profiles of individual visitors or track you across other websites.

Do Not Track. Because we don't track visitors across other sites, our site doesn't change how it works when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Links to other sites. Our site links to Facebook, Instagram, map services, and vendor websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one doesn't cover them.

7How long we keep it

  • Mailing list. Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Vendor and sponsor records. As long as you participate, and afterward as long as we need them to consider future applications and to keep business and tax records.
  • Website logs and analytics. For the period our hosting and analytics providers keep them.

8Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email or call us using the details in section 12. We'll respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep some records where the law requires it, such as payment records.

We handle these requests the same way no matter what state you live in.

9Children

Kids are welcome at the show, but this website isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and limiting access to the people who run the show. No website or email system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission. If that happens and it affects you, we'll notify you as the law requires.

11Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the bottom of this page. If a change affects how we use information we already have, we'll also note it on the site or by email before it takes effect.
